Cartoons, ca. 1940-1974, were drawn by Frank Spangler, Sr. and Frank Spangler, Jr. for the Montgomery (Ala.) Advertiser. The majority are 11 x 14 original ink cartoons. A scrapbook of newspaper clippings concerning the political activities of Charles Dobbins and two Legislative Who Zoos by Spang (1927, 1931) are included. The cartoons, numbering several hundred, make political commentary about Montgomery and Alabama politics, local government, World War II, the economy, education, and roads.
